The Youth Leadership Collective is a collective that brings together community organizations and agencies with a shared commitment to ensuring that all youth in Ottawa have the opportunity to develop the skills that are key to employment success.
Service Overview
Hosted by BGC Ottawa, the Youth Leadership Collective is a collective that brings together community organizations and agencies with a shared commitment to ensuring that all youth in Ottawa have the opportunity to develop the skills that are key to employment success.
This initiative will result in the development of knowledge, specific skills, expertise and literacies that young people need to succeed in work and life. Participating agencies will spearhead efforts based on their current expertise integrating career-oriented skills and credentialling into their existing social, recreational, leadership and employment programs.
Youth will be able to attend programs at any of the participating youth serving agencies across the city of Ottawa and have the opportunity to obtain job ready certifications and develop the soft and hard skills that lead to greater employability. Our framework includes a much-needed strategy to increase awareness among prospective employers of the value of skills acquired through these programs.
