WHAT'S HAPPENING AT MCCANN!

Councillor Tim Tierney (with blue shirt) with BGCO Director of Advancement Daniel Brunette (suit and tie), McCann Manager Adam Joiner (black shirt) and two Clubbers.

The McCann Clubhouse was honoured to have former Camp Smitty counsellor and current Beacon Hill-Cyrville city councillor Tim Tierney on hand September 27th for a tour! Many thanks to Tim for taking time out of his busy schedule to reconnect with the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. Once a Clubber, always a Clubber!

The Snowbirds visited the McCann Clubhouse on September 15th as part of the Smart Risk program. The Clubbers had loads of questions for the team, with some being quite technical! Thanks go out to to the Snowbirds for an inspiring visit!

The McCann Clubhouse gym was filled-up with Canadian Junior League football players Friday for 'Ottawa Sooners Day'.

Football practice stations were set up all around the gym where kids could sprint, throw, jump and learn all about the game. Over 60 youth attended and had a great time participating.

Visiting parents were treated to player introductions, Clubbers' pride and excited explanations from happy kids who had to be pried away from the proceedings. Many of them asked hopefully if the athletes would be back next week.

If the players wanted to become more involved with youth in the community, they had come to the right place!

Later in the evening, senior club members were even given an opportunity to show their talents in an exciting pick-up game against the Sooners.

The players were encouraging and attentive, and their three hours in the gym was a generous gift to the Club that we look forward to being repeated.
