Buy a hammer, build a community campaign!

Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada and The Home Depot Canada Foundation have begun an exciting new partnership to raise funds to help create safe, sustainable and vibrant communities for children, youth and families. BGCC has been selected as a charitable partner in The Home Depot Canada Foundation’s Buy a Hammer, Build Our Community campaign from June 3rd to July 4th. For a $2 donation, customers can purchase a ‘Paper Hammer’ at the checkout of all participating Home Depot stores across Canada.  Alternatively, customers can make an online donation to the Foundation at homedepot.ca/foundation.

What does this mean to us? Our Club is in the area of a participating store which means we will be a recipient of its Paper Hammer sales!

Please support us by purchasing a paper hammer and help us spread the word to your network in support of BGCC and the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa.

Thank you for your support and for helping to make this campaign a fantastic success!

On Monday May 31st, the PYC clubhouse gymnasium was converted into an awards show venue and filled with proud Managers, Board Members, Scholarship & Award Donors, parents and Club members' beaming siblings.

The PYC Senior Youth Council circulated through the crowd at the beginning of the show providing tours, greeting attendees, serving food and even m.c.'ing the entire night.

Twenty six awards were presented to BGC members, alumni, and non members alike, in recognition of community effort, involvement and participation with the Club, academic success and financial need.

This year's Scholarship Program awarded over $70,000 to deserving youth -  in partnership with the private sector, the Boys and Girls Club of Ontario and the Ottawa Police Service.

The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa would like to say "Congratulations" again to each and every winner and a warm thank you to it's generous donors for providing the funds which will help our youth get to where they want to go in life!

Here's what's happening at the BGCO!
