Swimming Admittance & Supervision Requirements

As a result of the number of drowning in Ontario over the past years resulted in the Office of the Chief coroner issuing new guidelines to assist lifeguards in maintaining adequate surveillance over the whereabouts and the activities of young bathers while they are inside the pool enclose.

To assist us in ensuring your children have a safe and enjoyable swimming experience, Britannia Pool has implemented a wristband procedure. The system allows us to identify children at greater risk and ensure adequate supervision. All children 9 years and under will be given an identifying wrist band by the lifeguard.

8-10 yrs	No Adult		Green	Child will need to pass swim test to swim without adult
FAMILY:	A swim for families, not groups or parties. All children must be actively supervised by adult (+16)
ADULT:	18+ , 3 Lap Swimming lanes available, and 1 lane for swimmers who prefer to "bob and float"

Community Access Pass

The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa’s Community Access Pass allows family members admission to all recreational swims, aquafitness lessons and opportunities for gender specific swimming. Swimming helps develop life skills and an increased ability to stay safe in, on and around the water.
