The Police Athletic League

As leaders in barrier free access to recreational programs in the city of Ottawa, we offer a year round competitive sports program. This program is skill development / leadership focused and comes with all the traditional expectations of an organized sports league, such as awards nights, uniforms, and fully certified officials. This year the BGCO and its partners injected $50,000 into the program (doubled from previous years) in an initiative to see it grow even further.

No payment is required of the over 400 youth who participate annually.

Based on a concept from the BGC of New York, all coaches must adhere to training and code of conduct guidelines in the spirit of community respect and integrity.

Police mentorship at awards banquets, games and practices is the norm.

PAL is complemented by less competitive intramural programming for all levels of athletes including Inner Clubhouse programs and City wide sports programs.
