BGC Ottawa’s Western Winds Glamping Gala raises over $620,000

On Thursday night (August 28), under rainy skies and twinkling lights, nearly 500 guests gathered for BGC Ottawa’s annual Glamping Gala – an unforgettable evening of connection, generosity and community spirit.

Thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors, donors and friends, more than $620,000 was raised for BGC Ottawa’s free, transformative programs for children and youth across the city.

During the event itself, guests raised over $130,000 in just minutes to fund healthy snacks, meals and our Healthy Lifestyles programs – a powerful reminder of what community action can achieve.

“This night isn’t just about fundraising,” said Adam Joiner, Chief Executive Officer of BGC Ottawa. “It’s about reminding every kid in our city that they matter. That they belong. And that we’re here for them – rain or shine.”

The evening featured an inspiring story from Delaila Salem, a long-time Club Member and recent high school graduate, now heading to university. She brought warmth and humour to the stage.

“It’s been a total blast,” she said about her time at the Club. “I love this organization so much.”

Delaila even teased Joiner about her future career plans: “One day, I want to be the CEO of BGC Ottawa!” she laughed. “It’s all love, it’s all love.”

She continued: “Really, honestly, one day I would love to give back to this community the way that BGCO has given to me … It’s such an amazing organization.”

Between the unforgettable flavours of Western-inspired cuisine, signature cocktails that kept spirits high, and the buzz of laughter and conversation under the glow of lights, the rain didn’t dampen a thing. In fact, it made the evening feel even more intimate and special – a true celebration of community, resilience and purpose.

Because of your support – whether you were there in person or in spirit – thousands of kids across Ottawa will continue to be nourished; not just with food, but with opportunity, care and a deep sense of belonging.

“The Glamping Gala is a celebration of what’s possible when a community comes together,” said Joiner. “We’re not just raising funds – we’re raising hope and building a stronger future for every young person who walks through our doors.”

The BGC Ottawa Glamping Gala is one of two signature annual events hosted by the Club – the other being the Morning Social. Together, these events raise over $1 million in support of BGC Ottawa’s life-changing programs and community services.
